The ProLine is our premium flat fixed video projection screen system. The ProLine utilizes anyone of our CineWeave™ HD accoustically transparent or CineMatte solid screen surfaces.
The ProLine frame is acoustically dampened to eliminate resonance and finished with our proprietary black hole velvet. The ProLine was designed to utilize our manual masking PROPANELS when an automated masking system is outside the budget. |

When we began designing the SmX Pro-Line projection screen frame, we knew we had to break the box. We first sat down and studied all of our competitors projection screen frames to see how we can improve upon their design. We worked hand in hand with award winning extruding engineers to design the stiffest and strongest, yet lightest frame by using special extruding strengthening techniques. After countless hours of research, testing and tweaking these techniques, we were able to make the worlds strongest and stiffest projection screen frame that is by far superior to all, "The SmX Pro-Line".

The SmX Pro-Line frames are constructed with the highest quality 6063 T-6 heat tempered alloy. Our frame walls are .092" (3/32") thick, thats one third thicker than the highest priced competitors using .062" thick standard grade aluminum. Our methods assure the SmX Pro-Line frame has a lifetime of use with no warping, flexing, bending, oxidization or corrosion.
What does all this mean to the end user? It means never ending quality and reliability. It also means the ability to get wider one piece frames with no warping and no deflection causing waves or creases in your projection screen material. These engineering methods also assure you a precisely straight, squared frame for life.

Acoustically Dampened Frames |
|
SmX is the only company in the industry that insulates the hollow cavity of our projection screen frames and we have a patent pending using this method.

Why do we insulate our frames? Because all hollow cavities resonate from sound and a resonating cavity can sound tinny (or boomy in bigger cases).
With an audio transparent screen, your speakers are placed behind the projection screen. The sound waves from the speakers pass through the audio transparent screen to the audience. Sound waves/vibrations from the speakers also travel to the frame that is holding the projection screen material in place. With a hollow cavity inside your frame, those transferred sound waves can amplify cause the frame to resonate like an acoustical guitar or drum.
SmX takes pride in the sound quality of our acoustically transparent CineWeave™ HD screen material and the frame plays a part of the screens audio transparency. After extensive testing, we found that insulating the interior of the frame will eliminate resonance coming from the screen. This method maximizes audio transparency of your CineWeave™ HD screen material.
Besides acoustical reasons, insulating the frame also makes the frame more rigid without adding much weight to it.

We designed the Pro-Line Frame so the end user can adjust their screen material if moiré is present. You can eliminate the moiré by simply rotating your screen material on the SmX Pro-Line frame. This allows for worry free future projector upgrades as the material can be simply rotated to accommodate all future projectors.

Masking your screen doesn't need to be expensive especially when using our exclusive PROPANELS which seamlessly integrate into the ProLine.
SmX is the only company in the industry that offers a built in manual masking option. Our PROPANELS are fixed aspect ratio masking panels that drastically increases contrast by masking off those annoying black bars or unused screen area. The PROPANELS can be simply applied to your PROLINE whenever the projected contents aspect ratio changes.

The Pro-Line frame was developed for great flexibility by allowing you to be able to easily change screen surfaces whenever needed. We use a unique T-Spline system that locks the screen surface into a ribbed channel. This method assures a lifetime of tension and reliability.
If your screen surface should ever become loose, it can be simply re-tensioned by re-adjusting the T-Spline in seconds unlike using snaps. As SmX develops new screen surfaces in the future, a simple swap of the screen surface saves you time and money from having to purchase a whole new screen system.

The black boarder of your screen plays a huge part in perceived contrast of your projected image as well as projector over-scanning.
We did extensive testing against our competitors black trim and came up with a trim material that is by far superior to all. The competition uses a cheap black flocking trim that reflects light back at the audience. The SmX Pro-Line frame uses the finest quality, blackest of black, light absorbing true velvet that absorbs all the light.
There is nothing available on the market that is blacker than our velvet. Other "so called" Black Hole velvets look grey in comparison to ours.
The following comparison picture was shot with a camera and flash. The SmX true black velvet (on the left side) and the leading screen companies black flock trim (on the right side) were side by side when the picture was shot.
Notice how the leading screen companies flock trim reflects all the light from the camera flash, however the SmX true velvet trim absorbs all the light from the camera flash.
Do you want a grey trimmed frame around your screen or a true black one?

The ProLine frame has a curved beveled face designed to be extremely attractive, but yet be the best at absorbing bleeding light from your projector. The radius of the curve helps scatter the light better than traditional flat bevels.

A black backing can be used when there are reflective objects directly behind your screen, i.e.. glass doors, shiny aluminum tweeters, light colored wall, bright LED lights from equipment, etc.
Most cases will not require a black backing when using one of our CineWeave™ HD screen surfaces. However, if you should ever need to use a black backing, the Pro-Line frame has a second mounting channel that mounts the black backing a half inch behind the screen surface.

Unlike some of our competitors, the SmX Pro-Line frames are very easy to assemble and standard sized frames can be fully assembled in under ten minutes. We supply specially designed heavy duty locking corner inserts to accurately assemble our frames for precision locked alignment.

The ProLine utilizes our unique bubble level mounting system which assures a leveled installed screen everytime.
